Menucha’s Sunrise Daisy Survivor Path: Walk to Renewal
A Reflective Art Installation for Healing, Resilience, and Connection
The Sunrise Daisy Survivor Path: Walk to Renewal is a contemplative outdoor art installation that invites reflection, renewal, and connection. Gifted to Menucha by the Sunrise Daisy nonprofit, the path enhances the retreat experience by offering guests a meaningful space to pause, walk, and reflect—alone or together.
Designed to complement Menucha’s mission of care and renewal, the Survivor Path adds depth and value for individuals, retreat groups, and organizations seeking space for thoughtful engagement.
The Story Behind the Path
The Sunrise Daisy Survivor Path was imagined and created by Sunrise Daisy, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting positive coping and emotional resilience. Through a collaboration with Menucha Retreat & Conference Center, this vision became a permanent art installation grounded in compassion, clinical insight, and the healing power of place.
Installed in spring 2025, the path expands Sunrise Daisy’s original focus on cancer survivorship to include the many challenges people face across a lifetime, including trauma, grief, chronic illness or pain, addiction, major life transitions, and everyday life stress.
As part of Menucha’s campus, the path strengthens the retreat experience and supports long-term well-being for a wide range of guests.
Designed by Dr. Valerie Correa
The Survivor Path was designed by Dr. Valerie Correa, Founder of Sunrise Daisy, drawing on her clinical experience as a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Marital & Family Therapist.
Each art installation along the path is intentionally created to support healthy coping, encourage self-compassion, and foster personal meaning-making. Rather than offering answers, the path provides space to notice, reflect, and reconnect.
The Sunrise Daisy Survivor Path is a generous gift from the Sunrise Daisy nonprofit to Menucha and its community. It reflects a shared belief that healing and growth are supported not only through programs and conversations, but also through environment, art, and intentional moments of pause.
How Guests Can Use the Path
The Survivor Path is open to all Menucha guests and may be experienced in whatever way feels most supportive.
Guests may use the path for:
- Individual reflection or quiet walking
- Small group conversations or shared reflection
- Retreat programming focused on healing, resilience, or transition
- Community-building and group bonding activities
For guests who would like additional structure, Dr. Correa has written an optional reflection guide that can be used individually or with groups.
For retreat leaders and organizations, the Sunrise Daisy Survivor Path offers a rare and meaningful asset: a thoughtfully designed, trauma-informed space that naturally supports a wide range of retreat goals.
The path can:
- Enhance wellness, leadership, grief, or transformation-focused retreats
- Provide grounding during emotionally intensive gatherings
- Support trust, connection, and shared experience within groups
This installation reflects Menucha’s commitment to growing its impact in healthy, intentional ways—meeting people where they are and supporting the whole person.

An Invitation to Walk
The Sunrise Daisy Survivor Path invites guests to move at their own pace (alone or together) and to discover what renewal looks like for them.
