We’re excited to announce a new partnership with Write Around Portland to offer a creative writing program at Menucha.

This transformative experience taps the healing energy of our retreat setting, allowing participants to explore personal growth through writing in community.

No writing experience required! Only a desire to put pen to paper, allowing the words to tell a story, describe the beauty of the surroundings, or process your thoughts.

Write Around Portland's skilled facilitator will help participants create a space in which you'll be able to unlock your creativity, build or maintain a writing practice, and get some writing done.

The retreat will consist of writing, sharing (as desired, not required), and giving strengths-based feedback to each other. You'll also have time for walks, shorts hikes, observing nature. Menucha is home to lots of moss, birds, old-growth trees and views that let you take a long look down the Columbia River Gorge.

Participants will stay at Menucha in your choice of a a private room, or a shared room (shared by 2 people). You'll enjoy our delicious home-cooked meals from dinner Tuesday through breakfast on Friday (8 meals).

All inclusive of 3 nights lodging, 9 meals, and instruction. Limited to a maximum of 18 participants.

Cost is per-person, and dependent on the choice of room. A shared room will have 2 occupants - you can request a roommate or let us assign one for you. All rooms with have bathroom in the room.

Private Room - $703

Shared Room - $586

Couple Room - $871 (1 partner participates in the class, the other doesn't, both stay in the same room and enjoy all meals and Menucha)

Commuter $479  (class, lunches and dinners, no overnight lodging)

Lunch-Only Commuter $404  (class, lunches but not dinner, no overnight lodging)

Cancellation Policy for Menucha Sponsored On-site Programs:

More than 90 days out 100% refunded less $50 administration fee
46-90 days out 65% refunded
30-45 days out 50% refunded
Less than 30 days out* No refund available*

There are no refunds once the program has started.
If the event is canceled, the full deposit will be refunded.

For those concerned with cancellations because of covid, you may want to consider the Optional Purchase Protection that is available during registration (but not after). You can read the terms and conditions of the Purchase Protection (which is not administered by Menucha) here.

Please confirm the status of your program before making travel arrangements.  Menucha is not responsible for participants’ travel expenses and/or arrangements.

Purchase Protection

During registration you will have the option to add Purchase Protection from Purchase Protection LLC. "Purchase Protection is not an insurance policy.  It is a service by Purchase Protection LLC that will refund you 100% of your event fees, taxes, and dues should you be prevented by unforeseen circumstances from attending the event."

Please read what is covered and their terms to decide if this is something that you want to add. It is only available at the time of registration. It is an additional cost paid directly to Purchase Protection LLC and not administered by Menucha.
