Menucha's Peace Pole
May Peace Prevail on Earth
At Menucha, peace is a living presence woven into the land, the trails, and the spaces where people gather. Here, the quiet of the forest, the gentle flow of the Columbia River, and the warmth of our retreat spaces invite a sense of calm that goes beyond the everyday. Whether walking among the trees, reflecting in a quiet corner, or sharing meaningful conversation, Menucha offers a sanctuary where hearts and minds can rest, relationships can be nurtured, and a deeper sense of harmony can be found. In this sacred place, peace is shared, cultivated, and carried forward into the wider world.
We’ve installed a Peace Pole on our grounds as an international symbol of hope, bearing the message “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in several languages. This simple yet powerful addition reflects Menucha’s mission to provide a welcoming space for groups and individuals to rest, renew, and reconnect across cultures and communities. We’re honored to join the thousands of Peace Poles around the world standing as beacons of peace and unity.

The Peace Pole rests in a quiet corner of the property, nestled in the forest just below the barn along our rim trail. It’s easily reached by walking the gravel road near the barn and following the bark-mulch path toward the viewpoint.
From this serene perch overlooking the Columbia River, it’s a natural place to pause, breathe, and reflect. Each season offers its own gift: winter opens up sweeping views through bare branches, fall glows with warm color, and spring and summer wrap the space in gentle shade beneath a canopy of green.
