Considering Bringing Your Spouse?

Spouses who want to come along, but who aren’t taking part in conferences, may be interested in the following:

At Menucha: Hiking, wandering our gardens, swimming (summer only), walking the labyrinth, photographing plants/animals/views around our historic property, reading, napping, etc.

Near Menucha (but requiring a car): Vista House, Multnomah Falls, other waterfalls and trails along the Historic Scenic Columbia River Highway, the Bonneville Dam and Fish Hatchery, Columbia Gorge Outlet Mall, or Columbia Gorge wineries. Please note visiting Multnomah Falls between 9am and 6pm May 24-September 5, 2022 will require purchasing a Timed-Use Permit available here: https://www.recreation.gov/timed-entry/10089144

In Portland:  First-time visitors may want to review this list of the Top Sights in Portland. Visit the Travel Portland website for lots of recommendations for restaurants, activities, shopping, and sightseeing.

Day trips farther afield: Mt. Hood (about 50 miles), the Oregon coast (100+ miles), and Willamette Valley wineries.

Important fact about getting out and about: There is no public transportation that reaches Menucha. Getting around beyond our 102 acres requires renting a car or calling for a ride via cab or shuttle.
