A frequent image for our lives is that of journey. Within this image is captured the idea of movement – from stage to stage, from place to place, from relationship to relationship, from dullness to bright shining wisdom.
During this event, each participant will create a quilt that tells the story of her or his journey through life. Using colors and shapes to tell the stories, each quilt will follow the journey of its creator.
The event will begin with the completion of Life Maps and will include the opportunities to tell stories, to share joys and sorrows, victories and defeats, loses and leaps forward; to contemplate the shapes and colors that represent various parts of our journeys; and to enjoy the richness of the ancient art of quilting by visiting a quilt store, planning and design, cutting and sewing, and learning techniques from each other.
Quilters of all levels of experience can participate.
