Menucha Retreat and Conference Center Job Description

Housekeeper 

Non-Exempt
FTE: 20 - 40 Hours per week
Department: Housekeeping
Reports to:
Housekeeping Supervisor

Therefore, this job description is designed to outline primary duties, qualifications and job scope, but not limit the employee or Menucha to just the work identified. It is our expectation that every employee will offer his/her service wherever and whenever necessary to ensure the success of our mission.

General Summary

Assure buildings and guest rooms are safe, clean and welcoming upon their arrival and throughout their stay at Menucha.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Insure guest rooms are clean and welcoming
  • Change and launder guest linens/towels as requested/required
  • Prepare guest meeting rooms as requested/required
  • Replenish guest room, coffee service and cleaning supplies as necessary
  • Report needed/anticipated repairs to Housekeeping Supervisor or Assistant

Job Scope

Job involves recurring work situations with occasional variations from the norm and involves a moderate to high level of complexity. This job requires a high level of attention to detail and flexibility.

Supervisory Responsibility

Job requires no supervisory responsibilities.

Interpersonal Contacts

Contacts are made with Menucha staff and guests. Contact is 100% face-to-face.

Specific Job Skills

  • Ability to operate housekeeping equipment
  • Possess knowledge of general housekeeping policies, practices and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to anticipate upcoming group needs and preventive maintenance issues

Education and/or Experience

  • No formal education is required
  • Valid Oregon driver’s license required
  • Food Handlers Card desirable

Job Conditions

Housekeeping activities require a high degree of mobility. Employee must be able to climb stairs, lift/carry up to 50 pounds of furniture, supplies and equipment.
